Interesting Auto Jobs

Thursday, June 23rd, 2011

Jobs in auto racing are plentiful or scarce, depending on which end of racing you are looking at, so if you want one, start thinking “out of the car”. Actual driving jobs are very scarce. The competition is heavy, you need skill, connections, and experience just to begin to think you have a chance at driving. However, there are some other paths to try within this huge industry.

If you want to be the star, the driver, start where you can. There are amateur races as well as professional races. Local tracks, small towns, fairs and carnivals can all have race driving opportunities. Race car owners need drivers, but they also need the team that keeps that car working. Pit crew, managers, media and public relations people, and an office team for scheduling, payroll, advertising, and travel arrangements.

There are racing schools and programs in Motorsports Management. There are hands on courses and online courses for students, professional and amateur drivers. Team members can also benefit from training courses. Managers, owners, agents and promoters need to know how to do their jobs better. Students can take this opportunity to build relationships for the future, network, and keep up to date with their skills.

Beyond the actual drivers and their pit crews, jobs in auto racing are available at the tracks, in broadcasting, and in promotion. Every track has its team of specialists. There are jobs for directors, marketers, media and communications, business development, sales, office administration, hospitality, security, and special event coordinators.

Some tracks need coordinators to handle large events, such as car shows and corporate sponsored events. In sales, both tracks and owners look for paid sponsors. This would be mostly an off track job, and there would be travel and public relations involved. Driver agents help expand the ability of drivers to build public relations, make special appearances possible, and keep things running smoothly on that level.

There are jobs in auto racing with related associations, such as NASCAR, the United State Auto Club, National Hot Rod Association, International Motor Sports Association, and other groups. Volunteering is another way to work into an auto racing related job. It is perfect for networking and meeting influential people who might later be helpful in your career.

A newer opportunity for those who want to improve their driving talents are the many racing schools and racing experience commercial operations, like Mario Andretti and Jeff Gordon have begun for the public to enjoy. Here, you can get a hands on racing school driving experience. Drive NASCAR, Indy or Formula style cars, or BMW on real tracks for an affordable $99 up to $1149 for multiple style cars and more time, up to 45 minutes. You never know who might be watching!

Driving a race car is like the frosting on a cake! Sweet, but it is the topping on the cake. Driving is the topping for a very large, exciting industry. There are plenty of jobs in auto racing “outside the car”.

Supercross Motorcycle Racing

Saturday, May 14th, 2011

If you’re like most other American citizens, it is liable that you would respond with NASCAR. NASCAR is, by far, the hottest racing sport in the United States, but are you aware what arrives at a close second? Honestly, there has been some debate over this, but many say that supercross motorbike racing is highly popular and that popularity is expected to persist in rising.

Are you a supercross motorcycle racing fan? If so, you likely already know what it is about the sport that makes it so popular and draws in fans. However, if you are not a supercross motorbike racing fan, you could be thinking about what is great about the sport. If this is the situation, you are without doubt not alone. The’re thousands, if not millions, of other American citizens who are thinking about the identical thing. To understand the popularity of supercross motorcycle racing, you must first understand the sport itself.

Supercross motorcycle racing is a sport that was derived off of motocross. Motocross racing involved the outdoor racing of off-road motorcycles. These races come about on a combinational of natural turf and false turf. Many tracks additional small hills, jumps, sharp turns, and other obstacles. The aim of motocross was not simply to finish the course, but finish in first place. Regrettably, since motocross racing takes place outdoors, there are only certain locations where these races could be held. Many of these races happened in rural areas. The issue with this was that it limited to the number of fans. That was until the development of supercross racing.

Supercross racing is almost exactly like motocross racing, but it occurs indoors, in most cases. In place of creating a man-made track outside, a man-made track is designed indoors. These occurrences mostly occur in large football stadiums or other similar venues. Since the track is shorter, the races are often shorter, but the excitement is still the same. In point of fact, some might say that the excitement created by supercross motorcycle racing is even better than the excitement created by motocross racing. One of the reasons being that you can observe all of the action, since the supercross tracks are smaller and normally indoors.

Needless to say being able to see the action is a reason why supercross motorcycle racing is so popular, but the action is a reason all on its own. As prior to this mentioned, supercross racing tracks are usually false. Like motocross tracks, these tracks have a number of turns, jumps, small hills, and other exciting obstacles. A a variety of supercross races, particularly those at the professional level, haven’t only heard how to maneuver these obstacles, but they do it in style. In some situations, depending on the competition and their surroundings, a supercross motorcycle rider will not just re-evaluate a jump, but they’ll try and add in something unique. That could be a simple wave or a small trick; whatever it is, it increases the excitement to the race.

Supercross motorcycle racing is popular because the sport is able to reach a a few different people. As previously mentioned, motocross tracks are inclined to only be found in rural areas. This means that if someone from a large town or city wanted to observe a race, they would have to travel a pretty far distance. It is also essential to note, that largely, motocross races weren’t and are still not always broadcasted on television. This is not the situation with supercross motorbike racing. Not simply are a number of supercross motorcycle races shown on television, but they are also step in a traveling circuit. This signifies that instead of racing at an identical venue, supercross racing occurs at a a few different ones, all across the nation. Essentially, this implies that just about anyone can have access to supercross racing; thus, increasing its popularity.

Naturally, many fans are passionate about their favorite racers. The identical can be said when having a favorite football player or basketball player. Fans just love to tune in and see their favorite athletes. Maybe, the relationship that the fans develop with their favorite supercross rider is the biggest factors why supercross motorcycle racing is now as popular as it is right now.
